Lazarus Rising. The Return of History ?

Following an exceptionally positive response to our regular newsletters and podcasts, next to the virtual conference, we have organized a dinner for selected member of LFMA.  

During the dinner, Alastair explored, inter alia:

• Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as a ‘game-changer’ as well as the breakdown in established trade flows;
• Claiming that this “the end of globalization” is as hyperbolic as Francis Fukuyama’s “end of history”  in 1992 (if history did indeed end then, it has surely risen Lazarus-like in 2022);
• The ongoing tectonic shifts in geopolitics that inevitably drive similar shifts in economics, including trade flows, which are bound to trigger yet more volatility and uncertainty in financial markets.
